Go:smart

Go:smart is developing and testing an innovative service that facilitates and rewards sustainable travel in urban environments. Our vision is "City households choose access to mobility instead of owning a car as customers of a reliable, flexible, rewarding and global service. A number of cities around the world will hereby become greener, safer, and more attractive."

SendSmart
Sendsmart is a project that will create sustainable freight transports in urban areas. The innovative and sustainable solutions will reduce the transports’ impact on climate, noise levels and the health of those living in the city. The result is a more attractive and competitive city.

The Virtual Colour Laboratory

DIVA
A new collaborative project on Data Intensive Visualization and Analysis (DIVA) will be supported for four years by an EU FP7 ITN Marie-Curie grant. In this project, six partners from Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Sweden, France and Hungary will joint efforts to advance the state-of-the-art in large scale (scientific) data visualization and interactive visual analysis.

DynamicDuo
Project exploring phone-tablet combinations for mobile usage. As an increasing number of users carry smartphones and tablets simultaneously, there is an opportunity to leverage the use of these two form factors in a more complementary way.

SECTRA
Methods for complex medical volume visualization based on clinical tasks and cognitive processes. Together with SECTRA AB.

Technological shifts and development of professional vision in radiology
The project addresses how advancements in imaging technologies challenge existing expertise and necessitates the development of new criteria and methods of interpretation.

Technologies and techniques: Making sense of endodontic procedures
The aim of the project is to explore how the introduction of surgical microscopes changes the premises for instruction as well as expert performance.

EVINN – Event Based Innovation

Architectural design research in the making
This project addresses knowledge development within teams of experts and is carried out through collaboration between participants from Department of Education, Communication and Learning at the Faculty of Education and the architectural research and design network Servo Stockholm Los Angeles.

Interaction and learning in simulation-based environments
Two related projects are carried out on simulations with a common interest in how professional performance can be trained and assessed in simulation environments. In this regard, both projects connect to longstanding pedagogical debates on the character of knowledge in action as well as recent research on how professional knowledge develops in and through observable interaction.

Innovative practices for improving radiation safety through real-time visualization
This project focuses on the continually increasing exposure to ionizing radiation in healthcare and how risks associated with this development can be handled. Increasing levels of radiation from novel medical procedures raise new challenges for maintaining radiation safety.
