The center is lead by a director and a vice director who support and coordinate activities within visualization in different research groups.

The Department of Applied IT is hosting the Visualization Research Gothenburg.

Visualization Research Gothenburg has a strong connection to Visual Arena Lindholmen (VAL), as being one of the partners and also by working together with activities for the whole network consisting of academia, industry and public sector.

Chalmers and University of Gothenburg are both members of VAL, together with Göteborg City and Business Region Göteborg. The two directors of Visualization Research Gothenburg are members of the Steering group for VAL, and the director of VAL is also a member of the Steering group of Visualization Research Gothenburg.
